How to choose a perfect lighting for your home?
Lighting is the most important feature of any house. Lighting sets the mood of your house, it can make your house dull, lively or romantic. It gives warmth and life to your house. Proper lighting enables you to perform tasks, makes you comfortable and relaxed and allows you to enjoy your home. However, every room of your house requires a unique and specific lighting.
Types of lighting
To create a perfect ambiance, it is important to use all types of lighting. Use dimmer to adjust the lighting. A proper mix of ambient, task and accent lighting is required:
- Ambient light: This light is used to make the room visible.
- Task light: You need this light to work, read or play.

Lighting your living room

You can make your bathroom bright or dim depending on your taste. However, task light is required over the sink and mirror so that you can shave and put on makeup properly. There should be proper ambient lighting so that your bathroom is fully visible.

Hallways and staircase require dim light as we just pass through them. There should be an overhead light on the top of the stairs to illuminate the staircase. There should be switches on both sides of the stairs. Use wall up-lighters at intervals to light the hallway and staircase fully.

There should be good lighting outside your house. You can use an overhead fluorescent light on the ceiling or a wall lantern to illuminate the exterior of your house. Low or dim lights invite thieves and robbers.
