The registration of property includes submission of relevant documents along with the payment of registration fees and stamp duty. These charges vary from state to state. For Gurgaon, the registration of properties is done under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Haryana.
What are property registration fee and stamp duty charges?
The Registration fee is an amount imposed by the government to record property transactions while Stamp Duty is a form of tax which is being levied by the government on legal documents.
Where is the property registration done?
The registration of properties is done at the office of the Sub Registrar/Joint Sub Registrar in whose jurisdiction the property is situated. Though there is no specific time limit for the payment of registration charges, however, the buyer has to present all the relevant documents to the Sub Registrar’s office within four months from the date of execution of the deed.
