Simple Tips to Clean Glass Top Stoves

It is easy to maintain it than a stainless steel gas stove which easily catches stains like stains of turmeric, oil etc. A steel gas stove is likely to lose its luster very fast, but the glass top stove remains looks fresh and new if proper care is given.

A well maintained gas stove lasts long and thereby saves you from unwanted expenses out of frequent replacement. How well you maintain, a dirty gas stove with oil spills and food particles can spoil the entire impression of your kitchen. So let us have a quick look at some simple tips.

Don’t keep the cleaning task for the end of the day: Don’t keep the cleaning task for the end of the day, or as part of a weekend cleaning routine. Spills and oil splatters on the gas stove, if cleaned immediately not only makes the task easy, but keeps the stove in good condition. On the other hand if you continue cooking the next dish over a gas stove with spills, it gets black due to heat and leaves marks, which may require brushing and use of hard objects to remove the stain. This can create scratches over the stove.

Don’t use sharp objects to clean: If cleaned immediately after cooking, you can use a sponge or a fiber scrubber to clean the stove. But if in case you were not able to clean the stove on time, instead of using sharp objects, pour some water or mild soap solution over it and let it sit over the area for some time so that the leftovers will get soaked. Once it is soaked use an old toothbrush or a wired brush to brush it off.

Liquid cleaners: Apply only mild cleaners or disinfectants; those which are exclusively available for gas stove or kitchen appliance. A detergent or acid based cleaners should be avoided. Try using natural cleansing objects like lemon and vinegar or baking soda, which are cheap as well as environment friendly.

Here’s a quick natural tip

Take some water in a cup and add 1 tbsp of lemon juice or 1/4 distilled white vinegar. Dip a soft cotton cloth into this solution and wring out. Wipe the stove with this, rinsing and wringing as required. Once the stains are removed, use a dry cloth to absorb the wetness.

Once you have cleaned the stove, then use a dry pad to wipe it dry. Water over the stove can cause marks on it and thereby look untidy. It is recommended to read the manual carefully first and then use the suitable way to clean your stove.
