Kopar Khairane is an upcoming locality in Navi Mumbai. Built on reclaimed land by City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), it is a posh locality with a number of popular eateries, stores, schools, and hospitals located within its precincts.


Lokmanya Tilak Institute of Architecture and Design Studies and Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering are popular colleges situated in the area. Also located in Kopar Khairane is the Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City, headquarters of Reliance Communications.


Connectivity and Transit Points


In Kopar Khairane, one is spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a mode of transport. The most popular way of getting around here, apart from private vehicles and buses, is the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Kopar Khairane Railway Station is an easily accessible transit point.


One can board trains from here, every 10 minutes during peak hours, and every 20 minutes at other times. The trains are reliable and help people cut down on travel time. Using this system, it takes only 20 minutes to reach Thane, 15 minutes to reach Nerul, and 40 minutes to reach Panvel.

Kopar Khairane is located about 20km from Navi Mumbai International Airport and 27km from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Bus stops dot the area at regular intervals and make commuting hassle-free. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are very common, and can be hired easily.

Kopar Khairane began to grow in earnest after the extension of the harbor railway line in the 1990s. CIDCO provided the basic infrastructure required for building a city (water, roads, and electricity), and the rest of the development was carried out by private builders.


A number of major companies have their offices in Kopar Khairane. This promoted growth as employees sought accommodation close to their workplace. Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City has been around from 2002. Millennium Business Park, also in Kopar Khairane, houses a number of companies, among which are L&T Infotech, 3Di Systems, and Allied Digital.


Nearby Mahape houses a number of major corporate offices in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
