Raigarh is an important city in Chhattisgarh, formed after the splitting of the state of Madhya Pradesh. It's the Municipal Corporation in the district of the same name. Popularly known as the cultural and industrial capital of the state, this city was formerly a princely state.

Apart from the people from Chhattisgarh, people from Orissa and Bihar are also here in large numbers. Chhattisgarhi, Marwari, Hindi, and Oriya are the most common languages spoken in this city. With Raigarh's transformation into a prime industrial hub, Naya Raigarh is soon going to serve as the industrial capital of Chhattisgarh. To support these developments, an increasing number of infrastructure facilities are being developed. The Kodatarai Airport, which is marked to be the main domestic airport of the state in the near future, is a classic example.

Many projects are being undertaken in Raigarh, especially to build new roads and parks.
