About Shastri Nagar

Shastri Nagar is a locality north of New Delhi. It is a town with good real estate prospects as it is located close to Inderlok Metro Station - a major transit point. It has well-developed infrastructure, including good roads, adequate water supply, and electricity.

Shastri Nagar also has three large parks in the region, which have become a refuge from the chaos of the city. Being close to Delhi has helped the area develop quickly. It has many ATMs, schools and hospitals nearby. The roads in the region are well maintained too and improve its connectivity.

Connectivity and transit points

The locality has many modes for travel such as state-run buses, trains, and metros. The Inderlok Metro station, which is a transfer station between red and green metro lines, is located here. Being a transfer station makes it a key transit point in the system.

The local railway station is located within 2 km from the town. Many trains travelling to local and national destinations can be boarded from here. Apart from rail based transport, state-run buses run across the major roads in the town. The bus route has many stops along the Swami Narayanan Marg Road and Vir Banda Bairagi Marg road. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are also available for travelling to places in and around the locality.

Indira Gandhi International Airport is located at a distance of 18 kilometres from Shastri Nagar. This airport has flights to many international destinations across the world and domestic flights to major towns in India like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kochi, and others.

Major challenges

The 16,190-acre DDA park in Shastri Nagar is poorly maintained. The locality is also close to regions with high crime rates and is considered unsafe at night. The heavy traffic and noise pollution in the city is another negative factor for this locality.

Factors for growth in the future

Shastri Nagar lies close to the nation’s capital. Due to this, the region will enjoy further development in its existing infrastructure. The fact that the Delhi market is reaching saturation benefits Shastri Nagar, which is garnering considerable demand in the real estate market.
