HSR Layout, Bangalore

Hosur Sarjapur Road Layout is popularly known as HSR Layout which is settled in South-East of Bangalore. The region is a residential locality which was established in 1984 by BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) in a land reclaimed from Agara Lake. It is strategically located between Hosur Road and Sarjapur Road. The region covers over 1500 acres and is enveloped by Mico Layout, Bommanahalli, Agara, Sarjapur Road and Hosur Road.

The HSR Layout started to develop only after 2000s and has reached a state where it is today. The name HSR Layout has been officially changed currently to Kengal Hanumanthaiah Layout after the name of the 2nd Chief Minister of Mysore (now Karnataka), Kengal Hanumanthaiah (1952-1956). The changed name is officially used only during the site auctions and work tenders by the BDA and BBMP. However, the general publics are yet unaware of it.

The HSR Layout is one of the largest layouts in Bangalore and is categorized into 7 Blocks as 7 Sectors which are criss-crossed by main roads and cross roads. The Sector 1 is the largest and Sector 6 is the smallest among all the sectors. The layout is designed on the basis of modern town planning principles and comprises of low rise Blocks & Independent Houses. The region also has a BDA Complex and numerous parks.

The region is developing swiftly with many Commercial spaces such as Shopping markets, Schools, Hospitals and Banks. The region comprises of almost all the Banks and ATMs. The region also has Pathanjali (Baba Ramdev) clinic which assists for herbal medication.

The region is easily accessible from the major parts of the city through Road ways. The construction of the Metro tracks has given it more space for development. It is barely 7 km from Jayanagar (largest residential region), 2 km from Koramangala, 15 km from Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic Station) & Bangalore City Railway Station and approximately 50 km from Bangalore international Airport.

The region is well developed and the important civic infrastructures. The easy accessibility and the development has increased the population density. The region has a total population of 24749, out of which 13215 are Male and 11534 are Female.

The region has attended great uplift in the Residential projects and partially the Commercial projects. The price of the land has been increasing constantly which has given the rise for the Real Estate Sector. At present, the region has numerous Residential and Commercial Projects of the reputed Builders.
