Overview
Kamshet is a village town in Maval Taluka located in north-western parts of Pune. This locality comes under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat. It is a beautiful place and has a number of small villages which are built in the tradition style. The locality has numerous tourist spots such as Shinde Wadi Hills, Kondeshwar Temple, pawna Lake, Bhairi Caves, Bedse Caves etc. It is also famous for paragliding experience. It is located 48.7 km from district headquarters Pune and 102 km from state capital Mumbai. This locality serves as a railhead for many villages such as Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra in the western ghats. Mumbai Pune Expressway passes through the village. Talegaon Dabhade, Vadgaon, Parandwadi, Khadkale, Taje, Karunj etc. are some of the prominent localities situated close to Kamshet. It is 23 km from the twin hill stations of Khandala and Lonavala from Kamshet and is easily accessible by road and rail from Mumbai and Pune. Some of the key residential localities in Kamshet are Krushnarang Skylight, Pioneer Golden Bells Phase-2, Chandrai Orchid, Omega Mantri Eternity Plus, Bhansali Aundh Riviera among others. Kamshet is well-connected to other parts of city via road, rail and public transport. The old Highway is the major highway which connects this area to want Nagar, Manohar Nagar and Talegaon Dabhade
Vadgaon, Kanhe, Malavli, Talegaon etc. are its nearby railway stations. However, Vadgaon Railway Station is the major railway station which is located at a distance of 10.5 km via NH 48.
Pune International Airport is located at a distance of 57 km via Mumbai-Pandharpur Road.
A regular MSRTC and PMPML buses run from Kamshet to Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra villages.
