Kamshet is a village town in Maval Taluka located in north-western parts of Pune. This locality comes under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat. It is located 48.7 km from district headquarters Pune and 102 km from state capital Mumbai. This locality serves as a railhead for many villages such as Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra in the western ghats. Mumbai Pune Expressway passes through the village. Talegaon Dabhade, Vadgaon, Parandwadi, Khadkale, Taje, Karunj etc. are some of the prominent localities situated close to Kamshet. It is 23 km from the twin hill stations of Khandala and Lonavala from Kamshet and is easily accessible by road and rail from Mumbai and Pune.
