Beliaghata, also known as Beleghata, is one of the most prominent locality located towards the east of Kolkata, West Bengal. The locality comes under the supervision of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Other prominent localities close to Beliaghata are Rajabazar, Narkeldanga, Kankurgachi, Tangra, Phoolbagan, Sealdah, Park Circus and Dhapa. Subhas Sarobar is one of the famous tourist attraction of Kolkata present in the locality of Beliaghata. It’s a very highly populated area due to its residing poor to lower-middle-class people. It is served by the CIT Road, Beliaghata Main Road and EM Bypass. Beliaghata Main Road which is the only road suitable for proper transportation. The locality has 4 major crossing points 1st is CIT More, 2nd lies between CIT More and Sealdah i.e. Alochaya Cinema bus stop and 3rd crossing over the Beliaghata Canal (Khalpol) and the 4th itself in Sealdah which the major in city national railway station. It has close in proximity to Subhas Sarobar Lake which is a waterbody with an attraction on its own and recent developments have led to beautification of the area. C. I. T. Road from CIT More and Raja Rajendra Lal Mitra Road from Alochaya Cinema Crossing connects Beleghata to Airport via VIP Road. Few AC buses run on the Beliaghata Main Road, which is one of city's majority connector. It connects Eastern Metropolitan Bypass (EM Bypass) to Central Kolkata.
Kolkata Metro East-West Corridor passes through the locality and have its own station Beliaghata Metro Station, situated at a distance of 4.7 km via EM Bypass.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport is located at a distance of 13.7 km from Beliaghata which can be reached less than half an hour.
Sir Gurudas Banerjee Halt, Kankurgachi Road Cabin, Sealdah, Kolkata Station are its nearby railway station. However, Sealdah is the nearest and major railway station which is located at a distance of 4 km via Chaulpatty Road while Howrah Junction Railway Station located at a distance of 8.4 km via CIT Road.
