Budget 2015: 4 ‘REAL’ Things That Got No Mention!

Union Budget 2015-20161. Smart Cities: The budget did not provide any details on 100 upcoming smart cities, which were widely anticipated. The clear roadmap pertaining to the development of these cities still remains unclear. But as every cloud has silver lining. We believe that the funds allocated for the development of road and rail will boost the infrastructure, which in turn will help towards building smarter cities.

2. Industry Status: The dream of long-pending industry status has been quashed once again.

3. Real Estate Governing Body: Setting up of a real estate regulator to remove the glitches pertaining in the sector was the need of the hour. However, no light has been thrown on this aspect.

4. Regulation of Construction Material Costs: For turning the dream of affordable housing into reality, there was a dire need to bring the costs of raw materials down. But, unfortunately, it did not find any place in this year’s budget.
