Children’s Day speech

Celebrating Children’s Day is the best way to commemorate and rejoice the best moments of childhood. What could be more wonderful than dedicating an entire day to all children in this world?

Why celebrate Children’s Day?

In India, every year, November 14th is celebrated as Children’s Day and is also the birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, also known as Chachaji. As a tribute to him and his love for children, this day is celebrated as Children’s Day.  He worked passionately towards the welfare of children and was keen about the education and development of children in India.

Speech:

A day celebrated to honour all children in the world as well as to honour the person who was the epitome of great love towards children and who worked passionately towards the welfare of children. A day where every child can unleash himself/herself as a child.

Well nurtured children make the nation strong and sound. Perhaps, every child has to remember that since they are the future of a nation, they should imbibe the values of discipline, sense of orderliness, cleanliness, ambitiousness and much more. These values will make a good citizen out of a child.

Each priceless value is gained from home, which is the child’s first school and foundation. A child tends to learn qualities at home through observation, suggestion and influence. Hence parents/guardian plays a major role in shaping a child’s future.

Talking about rearing a child, education plays a major role as it plays an important role in developing a child’s mental faculty. The importance of educating a child was imposed by our freedom fighters such as Shivaji, Vivekanada, Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru and many others who have been acknowledged with reverential gratitude for the value of the wholesome training they received from the hands of their parents, while young. These men are our role models whose path should be followed by the young generation of our country.

Every child should realise that they should always respect and obey their parents and teachers, as they are the most important  people moulding their lives.

Points of awareness:

The supreme law of Indian (constitution) guarantees that all people under the age of 18 have children’s rights.

A child has the right to be cared for by his/her parents and family.

A child has the right to consume healthy food.

A child has the right to health care.

A child has the right to be protected and to feel safe.

A child has the right to education.

If a child has a disability, he/she has the right to special care.

A very happy Children’s Day to all!
