Home Decoration Styles for Your Apartment

The concepts of decorating a house have evolved since time immemorial. There is a rise in the various designs, concepts and styles of decoration. Every individual has a different taste of interior designing. There are various styles which are a blend of both ancient and contemporary concepts. Each style depicts the age, trend and personality. Here are a few styles of home designing;

Asian Style: This style of home adornment originates from countries like China, japan, Thailand, Korea and other eastern countries. Asian style is a contemporary form of interior designing consisting of, Feng Shui furniture materials, Zen relaxing space, Silk wallpapers and Asian-styled bedding. This style comes in various forms and natures along with Asian style furniture like futons, tatami mats, tansu cabinets, paper lanterns and foo dogs.

Asian style mainly comprises of Chinese and Japanese styles wherein;

The Japanese style has floor coverings made up of natural fibers which are also known as tatami mats. Most of the materials used for this style are bamboo, stone and any other natural material. Furniture here consists of low profile traditional tables set up with cushions. The windows are created in a way which illuminates the entire room with natural light. Artificial lights are very rarely used with paper lamps. Traditional attires or kimonos can be displayed for a traditional effect. The colours used here are subtle shades of brown, green and grey blended with bright colourful patches. Accessories here include natural materials made out of fibers/ wood.

The Chinese style includes carved stylish furnishings sporting lacquered and hand painted designs which are brightly coloured. Various sculptures of animals are used to add charm to the place. The colour Red is considered as a symbol of luck and hence is used in abundance. Other than Red, various other bright colours and high-gloss finishes are used for the décor to get a sophisticated look. The accessories include murals, figurines, scrolls and so on.

Traditional style: Another style of home crafting is widely followed in America and has eventually flourished in India. The décor and ambiance here is traditionally elegant and has curved features. The furniture is made out of dark wood and queen styled furniture. In order to add a traditional look, lighting fixtures of glass, porcelain and wood are added. One can also add silhouettes with curved features to give a traditional look. Also one can add a striking chandelier in your apartment. The colours included in this style are jewel tones with other dark colours. The prevalent fabrics used in this are silk, satin and brocades.

Contemporary style: This style includes, clean lined, noticeable designs with compact colours. This style focuses on the reduced usage of ornamental objects and the usage of the blankest surfaces. People commonly are reluctant to go in for contemporary style as they consider it to be too arid and simple. Perhaps the simplicity of this style can create a sense of serenity and relaxation, as there is no too much of fuss in the maintenance. Colours like white, black and other neutral shades are commonly used here. One can enhance this style by adding curved and colourful accessories. The furniture can contain sleek and sharp features. This style gives an appealing visual appearance. Windows can be made out of bamboo and the fabrics can be natural or textural with pastel shades.

Art Deco style: This style mainly depicts the classic home decoration with a unique look. It gives a person the machine age feel from the 30s. This style was prevalent during the world wars and had a prominent impact in the field of architecture and interior designing. This style encompasses the facets of architecture and has rudiments which are symmetrical, modernized and curvaceous. There is a combination of uncurved and round objects in this style. Two of the most important used materials here are; stainless steel and glass. These materials are blended with other decors. The colours used in this style are shades of brown, black and white. If you want to give your house a bolder look, you can blend the colours with other dark colours. One can add a decorative wall piece along with a coffee or a tea table.

Swedish style: If you’re looking for a varied style of interiors, this is the perfect one. Swedish Style is one of the hottest home designing styles. This style has a trendy tactic and makes a small room look attractive and creative. There is mishmash of an array of colours and an assortment of stimulating objects. This arrangement lets a viewer see every object in detail. One can make the most of their room by placing fascinating furniture, colourful objects and bright fabrics. The furniture can be blended with modern as well as heritage objects. Windows, cushions, beds and chairs can be an assorted range.
