How to make your bathroom a vastu compliant bathroom?
Vastu compliant bathroom is essential in keeping energy levels in balance. Often people focus on vastu for bedrooms and kitchen but ignore the bathrooms. Since bathroom is one place with a strong influence of water energies, it is imperative to follow bathroom designs as per vastu shastra guidelines resulting in beneficial results for all members of the family. Here are some vastu guidelines that can be applied in the residential bathrooms.
Bathroom Location: Bathrooms must ideally be placed in the west or north western region of any household for best results. The eastern and north eastern directions must be avoided at all costs. Vastu shastra has given a lot of emphasis on free flow of air and sunlight in its approach. Having a west or northwest bathroom absorbs the harmful infra red rays from the sun keeping the bathroom region cool and in sync with the energy flow of water elements. Any windows should be set in the north or east sides of the bathroom. In case of an attached bathroom, the northeast direction must be avoided at all costs.
Bathroom Design: Bathrooms need to be carefully designed as per vastu principles to allow a balanced flow of positive energy. Toilet seats in any bathroom must be placed facing southern direction. The extra water must leave the bathroom from the east or the north eastern direction. The gradient angle of the bathroom flow must be built in such a way that southwest or southeast directions do not have any water outlets.
Bathroom Floor: According to vastu principles, bathroom floor must never be on the same height as the bedroom and other rooms. A bathroom floor must be at least 1 or 2 feet above the ground level. The use of marbles in the bathroom floor is considered to be a bad omen while tiles can be used freely.
Color Combinations: Having a well balanced color schemes in bathroom floor and walls is an essential part of the overall vastu compliance. Things can go awry even if other aspects of vastu are compatible but the color combination is not supportive. The use of dark colors like black, dark red is best avoided for bathrooms. Instead it is advised to go in for soothing water colors like white, sky blue or light pastel shades.
Faucets and Bathroom Fixtures: All bathroom fixtures and faucets have a dedicated earmarked space according to vastu principles. It is recommended to keep bathroom fixtures as close to the compatible region for best results. While sinks are best suited in the northeast, north or eastern sides, bathtubs must always be inclined towards northeast, west or eastern direction. The overhead septic water tank should be located in the northwest direction. Shower and taps in the bathroom can be attached on Northern wall.
Mirror Location: The bathroom mirror should always be on the eastern wall. Since bathroom mirror has a strong sense of reflection and big size it can impact the energy flow mechanism of the bathroom if placed in a wrong direction.
Geyser and Electric Appliance: Water heaters and Geysers should ideally be placed in South-east corner of the bathroom. Since electricity and water are opposite elements, the placement of all electrical items must be followed strictly. In case of a washing machine inside the bathroom, southeast and northwest corners are the best suited location.
