Inspired decor: Make your indoors dance to a pretty note

With the rain dancing in and out, there’s a lot to look forward to. Lush greens, dancing palms, buds plump with life, colours waiting to explore. For us, colour is not just something you see; it’s something you feel. Whether it’s on your walls, furniture or sheets, the hue you choose for your home should make you feel comfortable and happy. This season, we are celebrating colour and how to incorporate that in your decor . Simple tips, but we promise that it would add a smile to your lips and have you lusting for the look.

The hues of blue

Just because it’s bleak outside doesn’t mean you can’t cheer up your space! Why stick to boring beige when you can pump up your pad with a kaleidoscope of colour? A splash of cobalt on the walls or your floors will make your space come alive instantly.

Riot of colours

If you do not want to go through the hassle of painting your walls or redoing your upholstery, fret not. Simply bring in a riot of colours through stained glass painting on your door or window. It’s a delight to see the rainbow colour dancing on your floor whilst dollops of sunlight work its way through the coloured glass.

Play with nature

Organic green is this year’s new white. The tone of this split-pea green is rooted in nature, which makes you feel grounded and safe. Pair it with some white or ivory so that it doesn’t start to look “soupy”.

Using Pink in your decor

Using pink in common areas isn’t exactly the most mainstream way of decorating. Typically, pink is associated with children’s rooms or a rather feminine living space – but that should really change. There’s nothing wrong with adding pink – it’ll only chic things up a bit! Start out by adding blush pink curtains to a room that already has neutrals or reupholster your sofa with a pale shade of pink!

Feeling bold…then pick up some pink paint and accent the new wall colour with gold, blue and white accessories and you will find that everything will flow so well together.

We were inspired by this beautiful lounge look in pink.

Delightful Patterns

Colourful cushions and patterned curtains infuse life in the gorgeous living space. Bold and beautiful, they dress up the white walls and serve as an inspiration. Choose furniture with solid fabrics within the colour scheme to add stability and separate the patterns.

Playing with oranges

This season, it’s all about celebrating colour! We love playing with orange and this look is inspirational. The ottoman here, which doubles as a coffee table, served as the starting point for this energetic colour palette. Bright orange pillows and curtains, coupled with a calming blue painting and lamp, pull colours from the fabric.

Graphic art

Get creative with your decor. Combine thrift store finds and bargain buys into a fun, colourful gallery. Hang bright, graphic artwork to work up the style of a cozy living room. Simple accents in a burst of colour can do wonders to your living space.
