New year party 2015: Do’s and Don’ts for apartment residents

If you are planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve with your friends at your home, there are some things you need to keep in mind, especially true if you are living in a bachelor pad, or have rented an apartment in a big society. The people living in the society may not share your temperament or love for celebrating New Year’s by throwing a party. There may be some who just don’t like the sound of party, and will find ways to create trouble for you. The best way is to make sure you party within the set rules so that they don’t have anything to complain against you. Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts for hosting a party at your apartment.

• Celebrate the eve as a community. You can ask the society members to join in to have fun and enjoy the eve together. You need to put up a proposal that will initiate the members to actually want to celebrate the eve together. This way you will not face society hindrance, and calling in a couple of friends will also become easy.
• If you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party, you should have a space where you can host the party. Make sure the space is such that it does not disturb the society members who are not participating in the party. It is also important to have a space that can accommodate the people and the refreshments.
• What’s a party without refreshments? You need to ensure that you serve proper food and drinks at the party. For this you can set up a caterer or get food from nearby places. You need to make sure that you have made perfect arrangements for refreshments to be served at the party.
• If you are hosting a party, you will obviously need to arrange for a good sound system or a DJ depending on the budget. Make sure you don’t play the music too loud, else you will receive a variety of complaints from neighbouring societies, and that is definitely not a good idea.
• Whether you are hosting a party within the society or outside, you need to make sure that all the permits are in place. If you don’t have the permission for late night party or for loud music, you might face major issues.
• Finally it is important to arrange for parking for the people who are visiting the society for party. You don’t want the vehicles to be towed, do you?
