I am facing problem of spiders and cockroaches in my rented apartment, can I ask my land lord to get the fumigation done ?
Q: I am staying in a rented apartment recently heard mice in the walls, cockroaches and spiders all over.It is really difficult for me to stay in such conditions. Please help me with my rights to get it fumigated? I dont think I should pay it from my pocket ,shall I ask my landlord to pay for it? And if he is ready to pay then do I have to get an authorization and ask him in advance about the amount he is willing to refund.
Bedbugs Bedbugs are small, oval, brownish insects that live on the blood of animals or humans. Adult bedbugs have flat bodies about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, however, their bodies swell and are a reddish color. Bedbugs do not fly, but they can move quickly over floors, walls, and ceilings. Female bedbugs may lay hundreds of eggs, each of which is about the size of a speck of dust, over a lifetime.
Bedbug Treatments Clean bedding, linens, curtains, and clothing in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer setting. ... Use a stiff brush to scrub mattress seams to remove bedbugs and their eggs before vacuuming. Vacuum your bed and surrounding area frequently.

In my knowledge in a rented situation, you are responsible for fumigation of pests. But still I would advice go through your rental agreement once and see if any clause on insects and pests have been given. Ask other tenants also to fumigate their place as the pests once fumigated from one place gets to another place. There is no permanent solution to it and they keep coming back. Inquire about the clause with your owners' association or facility management about it.
