Ghaziabad Development Authority has acquired land in and around Kanawani village for developmental work on Indirapuram Extension residential scheme. Many farmers and residents have signed the petition for the same. About 133 acres of land were required for the developmental work. The scheme finally saw the light early this year after many months of hesitation from the farmers. Earlier it had to be 250 acres but after much controversies, it was slashed to 133 acres and a compensation of Rs 1,000 per square metre and an added bonus of Rs 100 per square metre has been fixed for the scheme.
