Q: The Government has passed a new law which says that the rent should be fixed between the landlord and the tenant mutually for a specific period of time. Why the government have made such law?
Quite surprisingly, why these tenancy laws are skewed towards benefit of the landlord. Why there is no provision at all to safeguard interests and integrity of tenants? For example, to suit our need a landlord can bind the minimum stay period (just to save brokerage). If a tenant has genuine cause to leave, the refund is refused. Why these points are not addressed?
The tenancy act has been passed by the goverment to balance the responsibility and rights for both the landlord and the tenant including the process of fast settlement for resolving the disputes. The Act also control the balancing of the interest between the landlord and the tenants.
