Resale values of Green buildings are usually greater than those that are conventionally built.
Green buildings are gaining momentum and could account for 20% of all constructions by 2030. They are healthier places to live and work, minimize energy and water use, and generate better profits. Green buildings are a happy sign of the times, with a growing awareness on carbon emissions.
Karnataka houses 41 green buildings, which is the fourth largest figure in the country, out of which 39 is in Bangalore. According to industry prediction, both the residential apartments and independent houses are ready to be more in number than the commercial buildings in India by 2030.
The concept “Green Building” is attracting people’s imagination. Though the concept could attract only 5 percent of the population, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is happy that the residential sector is coming up with such buildings.
