Are houses being constructed by the govt to all poor people in rural areas?

Q: Hi, I want to know more about who is eligible for getting a house under this scheme. And will the govt provide the entire cost for the house to be built?

Hi Bhupendra, govt will not provide house. It will provide financial help to homeless people living in hilly and difficult regions to buy land and build house. It was first fixed to give 50% of the expenditure for house, that is Rs 50,00 per house. But now it has been changed to 75 %, so govt. will give Rs 75,000 per such house unit. But this is applicable only in hilly and difficult areas. It is taken up under the Indira Awas Yojana scheme.
