No Suresh, they are planning to hire a private agency to conduct the survey and prepare a report of all the properties. And the agency would conduct door-to-door survey and take photographs of properties and their owners. All material parameters of properties relevant for determining their annual value and incidence of tax will be recorded.. Also they are planning to provide GPS-enabled equipment through which the data captured can also be transferred immediately after each house to the property tax server at the corporation’s data centre.
The NDMC is also planning to allot unique property identification code (UPIC) to each property and digitalise the records of all the properties in the city. The UPIC of a particular property can be used for charging tax and dues, seeking license or permission for any service. It can also be used for other official purposes.
As per the plan, the plot sizes will be measured on the spot through an equipment supplied by the Corporation and calculation of property tax will be done.
Hi Suresh, even I heard the news. But I think it is going to be to be done in North Delhi only because it is North Delhi Municipal Corporation which has made this plan. It wants to make sure that no property will be misses out in paying property tax. There are so many property owners who evade property tax, that's the reason the corporation has taken this step.
