Yes Gurmeet..government is surrounded with questions now.. If the government chooses to refund the subsidy amount of Rs 344, again the question of remaining Rs 250 per cylinder remains unanswered. This matter need to be resolved soon.
@ Sam..you are right..after this situation.. will the government refund that extra subsidy amount of Rs 344 which oil companies are bearing for each cylinder or will they refund the difference of the amount between of unsubsdised cylinder (Rs 1031) and domestic gas cylinder (Rs 437) which comes out to be Rs 504..??
Also the authorities had no explanations regarding the tax burden which will be paid by customers for buying unsubsidised gas cylinders. The Value Added Tax (VAT) paid by customers will be increased from Rs 22 to Rs 50 per cylinder. Thus this additional tax will generate more than Rs 220 crore in the treasury house.
Hi..There is one big question raised..the cost of a domestic gas cylinder in the city is Rs 437 and the subisdy amount to be credited by oil companies for that same gas cylinder (unsubsdised cylinder) is pegged at Rs 1,031. This means that the oil companies are paying an extra amount of around Rs 344 per cylinder as claimed by their website. Thus the cost of the an unsubsidised cylinder comes out to around Rs 800 including all taxes and not Rs 1031.
Hi Pranab..As you know the last date of this scheme is 15 Feb and till yet no Aadhar card has been issued to many people. As oil companies have collected mobile numbers of the customers via SMS, a similar kind of provisions could be made for updating Aadhar numbers. Customers are solely taking responsibility for linking their mobile, Aadhar and bank account numbers which should be jointly taken by the government and oil companies.
