I am just waiting for the process of issuing DRC to gain speed. Very soon our city will get wider roads. Traffic congestion will be reduced at many stretches and big vehicles will get more space.
@ Pranab...Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) will issue the DRC’s to the affected property owners on the recommendation of Chennai corporation. In 2012, CMDA rejected the same proposal of Chennai corporation and now they are only issuing these certificates. The Chennai Corporation has only authority to process applications for planning permission.
Hi Pranab.. Few roads included in road widening project are VOC Road in George Town, Paper Mills Road, Kaliamman Koil Street and Red Hills High Road etc. DRCs will give the right to property owners to claim additional built-up area (floor space index) in lieu of land handed over for infrastructure projects in Chennai
Hi Abhisek...what are the advantages of issuing DRC to the owners and where are these road widening projects going on..?? And who will issue this certificate to the property owners..??
Yes Mr Srinivas..now the implementation of road-widening projects easier. It is because the Chennai Corporation has initiated to use the Development Rights Certificate (DRC). They are also recommended to issue DRC’s to those property owners who will be affected by the road widening project.
