DFID has committed Rs 400 crores as a concessional loan (at 2 per cent interest rate) to NHB to finance the construction of the project and about Rs 100 crore as technical assistance to strengthen systems and fund innovative pilot projects and upgrade slum housing.over seven years ( 2013 to 2019)
The National Housing Bank is going to launch an affordable housing project that will operate in eight low-income States. NHB has shook hands with the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) to launch the project.
The eight cities in which they are going to launch the affordable housing project includes Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand
