Highlights of the railway budget are as follows: 1) No hike in rail fare.

4) For safety and security measures, 4000 women RPF constable to be recruited.
5) Improvement in railway reservation system like E Ticketing, Wi Fi services in major stations and in select trains. Mobile based wake up calls for passengers.
6) 58 new trains to be introduced.
7) E Procurement to be made compulsory in higher purchase and more transparency.
The government is planning to use public private partnership for the project and the railwya minister proposed an outlay of Rs 100 crores to develop the bullet train project. Modiji has alos announced a diamond quadrilateral of bullet train to connect the metro cities. The trains will have a speed of about 160 kms to 200 kms per hour
The Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda in the Railway Budget proposed the first ever bullet train is set to run between Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Mumbai in Maharashtra. Currently the fastest train between the two cities is the Shatabdi Express, which nearly takes 7 hours each way. But the high speed trains are expected to run at a maximun speed of 320 km per hour.
Other proposed routes for the bullet train services are Delhi-Agra, Delhi-Chandigarh, Mysore-Bangalore-Chennai, Mumbai-Goa and Hyderabad-Secunderabad.
