need update on Charminar Pedestrianisation Project

Q: What is the current status of the CPP project? Any progress? Won't this project largely attract tourism and also improve the real estate market of Hyderabad?

I like the fact that this project is happening. This has to somehow also help add value to the real estate market of Hyderabad. More people will be interested in getting second homes here. Even many end users invest here. So we have to maintain real estate market stability of Hyderabad by completing all these projects as per the stipulated time frame.

These sort of projects are very important. Especially in a city that has so much culture. one of the main tourist attractions in Hyd is the Charminar. And if it is not taken care of properly, Hyderabad as a city will not rouse much interest to anyone. Nobody will want to invest here.

Shopkeepers do find it to be problem to replace their signage. because their new boards are much smaller in size and print. So they're worried that not many people passing by would see their shops.

Another reason for the delay was because of land acquisition problem. As usual. But once that got sorted out, MIM legislator called GHMC chief to urge him to resume the CPP project work.

One of the reasons for the delay of CPP projects was actually that earlier politicans wanted to promote and give priority to Telegu language. That's why there was a confusion whether to keep the signs in telegu or not. But now this issue is not a big thing anymore. Hence project work is happening now.

Hey so far 30 signages have already been replaced on the east side of Madina Charminar stretch. Same thing also happens to west side but I'm sure it will happen soon. The place will look so much better when that happens.

Yeah I know. It's been delayed by a long time. But usually these GHMC projects are like that only. If you ask them they will blame it on the politicans or residents of the area saying that they were not corporating. But they've spoken to the shopkeepers and have received a positive response. so let's see what happens.

This project was approved sometime in January last years and is only happening now? Why such a delay though. I think GHMC had approved 90 lakhs of funds to replace all these irregular signages on Madina - Charminar stretch that was so irritating to see. There were plans to replace it with one tupe of signage so that Charminar will be better.

Oh yes this CPP project is finally mvoing forward. The historic monument is going to be protected! :) GHMC has already started informing all shopkeepers to install uniform signage.
