Q: Hey I've heard a lot of good things about the Jayalakshmipuram area in Mysore. I'm an NRI looking to shift there in a few months, so can I get some reviews on this place?
The Pollution Control board actually said that the stench can be controlled. But the MCC Corporation and Kukkarahalli Lake Protection Committee felt the sewage has to be diverted first. The level of pollution in that lake has been graded 'D' by the Pollution Control Board and is unfit for bathing too.
According to the news, nearly 1 million litre of sewage enters the Kukkarahalli Lake on a daily basis! Long time back Kukkarahalli lake used to get fresh water from Poorniah feeder canal. But now it is only rain and sewage filling the lake
This locality has this lake okay,, The Kukkarahalli lake. It used to be alnadmark but slowly now it has turned into basically a dumping ground for all the garbage in the locality. It stinks so badly now that people think twice about going down this lake.
It is a very organized area, with residential plots, commercial pockets, places for relaxation and entertainment and hospitality sector spread evenly throughout.
Hey, glad to help. Jayalakshmipuram is one of the more upscale areas in Mysore, and it is an area that has it all. The land value is also really good, and expected to increase considerably.
