Q: Hi I am working near the ESI Hospital on KRS Road in Mysore. This month the rains were bad and terrible potholes on newly paved KRS Road. Any info about repair?
I also read that there has been a trickle down effect of all this on the festival street food. Since less people took to the roads due to the horrible condition, the street food vendors reduced their rates. Well, everyone is affected one way or the other.
Yeah I read in the news that government has decided to give 5 crores each to the Mysore Urban Development Authority and the Mysore City Corporation to repair the damages. But they will begin work only post the dasara festivities.
The roads have become pathetic. All due to bad maintenance. Now during this dasara season there are elephants also on the road. Imagine the situation. The government has apologized and agreed to take some measures.
KRS Road, connecting Ring Road and Brindavan Gardens has had the worst effect. It is also the most visited and crowded region during Dasara. Unfortunately due to this rain pothole issue the tourists have decreased.
Actually it is not just the roads. They had to shift the venue for Raitha Dasara Sports from JK grounds to the Oval grounds just because water crept into the venue with all these potholes. So sad.
Same case in KRS Road too. During Dasara it is like the main procession zone. how do you even travel to ESI hospital during this season? Rain and festive.
Yes you are correct. MG Road had got asphalt patch just before Dasara began. And then, I think near the Mall of Mysore only. The road caved in once a loaded truck tried going over some pothole.
It was bad patch up ya. I know! Most of the places they did random patch up of roads wherever they found potholes. That is just so inefficient and waste of money. And see what happened.
I don't know what to say! It is such negligence from the Mysore City Corporation and the contractors whho did a bad job. And because of this businesses get affected in the Dasara major festive season.
