Q: Hey I recently heard that the Telangana government has new plans for Hyderabad by developing more aerospace parks? Is this true? Can I have more info on this? Where exactly are these parks going to be set up?
Yeah that is correct. In fact, the government has already allocated land for over 32 small and medium enterprises to set up their entities in the SEZ at Adibatla. There was also a 3 day conference regarding this very topic held very recently in Hyderabad. It was done in order to attract more investments such as this but from foreign companies.
Hey yeah I heard about this aerospace expo. Representatives from popular companies like EADS, Airbus, Eurocopter, Dassault, UTC, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Hamilton, Zodiac, Philips Aircraft, UTC HQ and IAMF are to attend it. I'm not sure if this is already over though. Is it? Now there's going to a new policy for the aerospace department that offers various incentives. this will definitely entice many investments in these aerospace parks.
Yes I completely agree with you. The increase will be monumental. The size of aerospace and defence sector will go upto 200 billion from 20 billion within the next 5 years or so. Hopefully, if the aerospace park actually gets completed on time. Let's see.
Hyderabad is at a very good place right now. It has a lot of strenghts that it can work with like the existing SEZ at Adibatla, GMRs Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility, the aerospace SEZ at Hyderabad Airport, large number of defence research and development organizations, and strong assembly base with the presence of over 500 SMEs.
Hey there. The sez in adibatla has a major joint venture that consists of global giants like Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin and RUAG Aviation. I feel that it is a really good move for the Indian Air Force to replace it's avro fleet right now as it will definitely boost Hyderabad's development and make it emerge as an aviaation and defence hub.
See the thing is that in Bangalore's case, the defence and aerospace sector is being undertaken solely by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. But in the case of Hyderabad, no public sector company is managing the defence sector. In this way, I surely feel that Hyderabad will even override Bangalore when it comes to this sector, very soon.
Now the government has even hiked up FDI for defence sector to 49%. Hyderabad is already ranking second all over India when it comes to aeronautics industry. But after this investment it has much more potential now. Within 5 years, the value of the aerospace and defence sector will increase.
Actually the new park that is supposed to come up in Ibrahimpatnam is located on Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. This is an extension of the already existing aerospace project in adibatla. And now basically what telangana government wants to do is increase their market share in the aerospace sector by 15 to 20%.
Hello, yes this is true. There is going to be 2 new aerospace parks coming up in Hyderabad within the next 5 years. This is purely to boost the city's share in aerospace and defence sector. The first one will come up in Ibrahimpatnam and the second one is supposed to come up on warangal highway.
