I can give you examples of some popular methods to calculate maintenance fee. One method is the per square foot method, in which there is a fixed rate per square foot. Equal Fee method is like every owner pays an equal amount. This is by calculating the total cost by number of units.

i would like to ease your calculation of the maintenance bill. First of all, you can calculate it by categorizing the main charges. I would like to list them all for your ease: Property Taxes, Water Charges, Common Electricity Charges, Contribution to repairs and maintenance fund, Expenses on repair, maintenance of lifts, service charges, car parking charges, non-occupancy charges, insurance charges etc.

In housing societies, the people who are living here, you know, have to pay a considerable sum of money every month as maintenance charges to the society. If you are living in an apartment and paying the charges, then it is your responsibility to make sure that the charges are being spent judiciously.

Most maintenance charges or the service charges are levied by commonly owned property areas. I think, in general terms, the maintenance charges are levied periodically. In my opinion, in most of the cases, maintenance charges are carried out on a monthly basis.

Exactly, i think it mentions about some very important methods. Some of them are Flat Monthly Fee, Per Square feet rate, Partial Flat rate, Mixed approach etc. Method of calculating the maintenance bill varies depending on the agreement or byelaw of association.
