Vastu consultation of pooja room involves thorough analysis.
Proper location of the pooja room in the house
The direction of the Entrance
The direction & placement of the windows
The direction & placement of the God place
The direction & placement of the almirah containing pooja stuff
The colour scheme of the room
Hi Victor, Nice one , in addition to your replies few more point I want to share :
a) The room shouldn’t have any materials placed in a level higher than that of the idols or the surface of the altar.
b) Placing heavy or large idols of Lord Ganesha in the puja room is not considered auspicious.
c) Photographs of dead people should not be placed inside the puja room.
d) Ensure that the room is clean and always filled with light.
e) While cleaning the puja room, take care not to use the common broomstick that is being used for the rest of the house.
Hi All, I am not the expert but as per Vastu guidelines.
1. The pooja room’s doors should always have two shutters.
2. The altar on which the idols are placed should be located in the northeast corner of the room.
3. The altar should be placed at least 2.5 inches from the wall and should not be fixed to the wall.
4. The idols and pictures of deities should be placed facing east or west and never the north.
5. The south-east direction is considered to be ruled by Agni (the God of Fire), and so the lamp should be placed facing that direction.
Vastu Shastra is the most commonly used term, especially when it comes to purchasing or constructing a new home. To have a happy and prosperous household you must lay stress on enhancing the positive energy inside your home. Vastu Shastra increases wealth, well-being and prosperity if you live in structures that allow positive cosmic forces.
I am not very much knowledgeable person in regards to Vastu Shastra but think I would like to tell you that: 1. The pooja room should always be situated in the North, East or the Northeast side of the house. 2. One should face towards East/North while worshipping. 3. Ideally there should be no idols in the worship room. But if one wish to keep, the height of the idol should not be more than 9"and less than 2". Vastu for Pooja Room. 4. While worshipping, the legs of the idol should be at the chest level of the person worshipping depending on the position, whether standing or sitting. 5. Nothing should be stored above the cabinet or slab here the God's idol is placed.
Hi Rajni, agree with you but I would be happy to add few more point with my experience: 1. The puja room should always be constructed in the ground floor of the house 2. When planning the layout, keep in mind that the ideal position should be at the north, northeast, or the eastern side of the house. 3. Most people have an enclosed space as their puja room. This should not be the case. The room should have an open atmosphere, and should have at least a window or a ventilator through which direct sunlight can enter.
4. Care should be taken to not build any toilets in the vicinity of the puja room. Even if the puja room is on the ground floor, ensure that there are no bathrooms build in the second floor, right on top of the puja room. The flooring for the place of worship is usually done in white marble. 5. When compared to the rest of the house, the ceiling of the puja room should be on a lower level. If that is not possible, then construct a false ceiling. 6. The ideal colouring for the puja room is white or light blue. Sometimes yellow is also used but not often.
