Hi, now election is over. So currently no noise about this election any more. But new thing is coming up in my mind. What new govt is going to do in Delhi, which will effect Delhi real estate ? what people are expecting from new govt ? What changes people want in their city ?
Delhi elections are finally over and locals are hoping for a reforms-centric, citizen-oriented regime in the capital. With sanitation being one of the concerns, enthusiastic citizens say that they would love to further PM Modi’s vision of a ‘Swacch Bharat’ in collaboration with the state government. Citizen buyers seem to be enthusiastic about a new government and are hoping for new reforms.
According to me, local Circles is one such forum that has successfully converged over 2 lakh Indians to bring their concerns, resolutions and best practices to the fore in an attempt to ensure transparency and accountability. Corporations should take weekly inspection as well as keep provision for receiving complaints against public/societies/establishments that compound waste management woes.
@ Rituraj , If the government gets tough on how the government officials and authorities work, issues would be halved. As of now, even premium neighborhoods, such as Vasant Kunj have to deal with encroachments and non-segregated waste disposal, yet the property values are not rational. To be rational, the corporations need to listen to residents and act on their complaints/suggestions.
Hi guys, I appreciated by reading above comments. As per my knowledge, cleanliness sign boards should include phone numbers of local health officer, waste pick-up agency, resident welfare association/security officer, SHO and MLA with a call to action from residents. Each ward should have a clear list of officials and phone numbers of health sanitation, electrical and water supply indicated on the website and at prominent places. Most citizens are also demanding a technology efficient grievance redressal mechanism.
In my point of view, property taxes should be completely online. Some states ensure this but because of technology incompetency, their websites don’t work for a long time and buyers are affected. Perhaps privatization should be explored. There are many parts of the city which are not maintained by corporations - private company campus, industrial cities and gated communities - and they all are much cleaner.
Golden rule for each place will always be better connectivity. In fact, despite getting lucky with the DDA housing scheme, buyers who have been allotted flats in Narela are in a fix. Will the Metro soon change the face of Narela and could it be a Dwarka in the making, is what most buyers are thinking. Connectivity is crucial not just the prices. Project ratings and reviews can be a helpful tool when it comes to property purchase. There should be ways to ensure that we have accountable data.
While authorities introduce new plans, we wish to know the Master Plans. Government should make sure they aren’t as lazy as they are made out to be.
As a part of Dwarka, Rohini and Narela is already being considered to be developed as a Smart City, AAP, BJP and Congress have promised to provide upgraded and urban infrastructure to the entire city. In addition to this, AAP is also promoting their vision to make Delhi a solar city through which they are also promising extra income by selling generated electricity to the grid.
Hi, According to different news, Congress has included 'balanced development' in their manifesto which talks about free movement of traffic and women safety, creating a safer environment in the city.
Expected Impact of “Making Delhi a World class City” in coming years : A world-class city comparable to international standards.
As 'Swacch Bharat' mission is picking up pace across India, the political parties in Delhi seem to use the concept for luring voters. Promising proper sewage system, zero drainage problems, toilet for each home as well as in common market places are some of the vows that leaders are making to impress voters. While Congress pledged more and more green buildings, AAP promised waste management and banning of plastic bags.
Expected Impact of “Clean Delhi” in coming years : Delhi will be cleaner & greener.
Hi Mr Mathur,
What I understood & felt from current news is, while Modi's affordable housing dream is in the process of becoming a reality, AAP president Arvind Kejriwal has also started talking about it. Taking advantage of the momentum, Congress is also talking about its plan of providing housing for the weaker section and has promised to deliver 25,000 flats under this category. In fact AAP has already identified 200 acre of land in the city which they have promised to utilise for the affordable housing mission.
Expected Impact of “Right to Shelter” in coming years : Even the lower income segment of the society will have a home of their own, resulting in reduction of slums and a better quality of life.
Construction of new bridges, better healthcare, high-end security through CCTVs and more buses are some of the promises being made by all three parties while appealing for votes. In fact BJP has also included better lighting on pavements around markets and expediting the ongoing repair work to ensure more footfalls in their election advertisements. AAP going a step further involved the villages around Delhi to provide better infrastructure and basic facilities such as power and water.
So, with the elections in Delhi being fought on the issue of development, it seems the citizens of Delhi can expect a better city in future.
Hi Guys, Yes , I heard from news, this time unauthorized addresses have become a big poll agenda for all the three leading political parties. On one hand where Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is trying hard as the Central Government has recently passed an ordinance on this regard, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have also included this as a main agenda in addition to relaxation in norms for registering properties.
In my point of view, expected Impact of “Regularization of unauthorized colonies” in coming years : With over 1600 illegal colonies, legalizing them won't only be a step towards Housing for All by 2022 mission but would also restrict growth of slums in the city.
Hi Mr Mathur, As per latest news in Delhi, now a days there are 5 common agendas that each party is bidding for a better and livable Delhi. In my point of view, precious five agendas are Regularisation of unauthorized colonies, Making Delhi a World Class city, Clean India, Right to shelter, Strengthening urban Infrastructure.
