Actually, Novartis is planning to transfer or move the jobs of about 6% of their total work force so as to reduce the number of production sites and is part of a larger drive to cut cost.

Though the Novartis has a lot of functions, this particular center will not focus on R&D, however, it will focus on drug safety and regulatory affairs, epidemiology and clinical trial support, publication activities besides finance and IT.

I agree, this in a way is also developing and funding the outskirts of the city as well. Because this facility will be coming up some where on the outskirts of the city, and the area surrounding that place will also increase its value and the real estate price due to the establishment of this facility.

Wow, Novartis is a very big and very well known company, and I think with its investment in the city, the other reputed companies will follow suit as well and I think Hyderabad will see a lot of development too!

The new center is expected to open in late 2015 or early 2016 and will bring together all Novartis operations that are currently spread across three sites in Hyderabad. Although it is not sure where their facility is going to come up.

Hey, yes Bharath. The Novartis Pharma Company is investing in Hyderabad. They have recently bought 8.7 lakh square feet of office space in Hyderabad in a bid to start its operations in the city. Right now, Hyderabad is seeing a lot of investments in the Pharma Sector, a it has a bulk drug industries and also because of the Pharma City.
