Hello. This is really sad. The overall number in the Hyderabad area too has hit an all time low. It has fell by fell by about 2.58 metres, from 7.33 metres last year to some 9.91 metres this year.

Other developed areas too have seen some steep falls in the levels. In Marredpally has seen a fall from 19.8 metres to about 23.31 metres at present while the secretariat has seen the level go from 5.85 metres from 5.5 metres.

Yes. So the numbers last year was just 3.7 metres but it has gone too much. Kulsanpura in Asifnagar has levels dropping by 10.21 metres from 4 metres last year. Darulshifa seems to be the one less affected as the level has gone from 11.82 from 9.1 metres.

So here's what the ground water department came up with for the Hyderabad regions. Nampally has been hit the worst with the water levels dropping for over 12.67 metres below ground level (BGL) which was entirely different the previous year in 2014.

Oh. Wow. That's too bad. You know in other areas like Kapra, ground water is no where to be seen and people looking for water here are coming up empty handed. I am scared as to what could happen over the coming years.

Exactly. People go digging for borewells even though they know that they would be lucky to get even a little bit of water. They go over a 1000 feet or to over 2000 plus feet by digging it but many a times they do not get any water.

You see the ground-water department did a research on this and have found out some pretty disappointing numbers especially over the past year from the January of 2014. Almost all the areas in Hyderabad has seen a drop of over several metres in the water reserves.

Yes. This issue was long time coming. I was wondering when I would hear about this. The problem is that everyone that is building a house in Hyderabad is actually opting to go for a borewell despite the fact that it costs a bomb for them.

Hello. These are some definitely sad numbers. What is the overall fall in Hyderabad? Is there any statistic for that?
