the corporation has said that water connection of those who have not paid property tax, and water charge for the first half-year by October 15 will be disconnected. In case of apartments, even if one of the consumer had not cleared the tax dues, the connection to the entire apartment complex would be cut.

The corporation’s target for the current financial year is Rs. 124 crore. the collection increased by 7 per cent in January this year, and by 10 per cent in February to touch an overall collection of 79 per cent. But that is a huge target that the corporation has set for itself and more needs to be done to get actually acquire this target.

Yeah, the commissioner has asked the tax collectors in the East Zone to show a 4 per cent increase every week, those in West, North and Central Zones to show a 3 per cent increase, and the collectors in the South Zone to show 5 per cent increase.

Yes the Coimbatore Corporation is planning a lot of moves as it aims to collect tax from all the consumers by the end of this financial year. The corporation is planning to collect upto 100% tax from the city. It is taking some severe steps against the defaulters in the city, and recently it had disconnected two water pipe lines in the city as the consumers faied to pay the tax.
