You know when the take over happened and the construction started subsequently over 200 workers from the church's side came to protest heavily about it. But police came over and covered the areas so that the work progress was not hindered.

The high court had once again directed the authorities to file their counter on the petition filed by the church against forcible takeover of the church land but it does not seem like the HMRL responded to that. Where will this issues end?

A representative of the church Das Roberts said the HMRL authorities had completed construction of the metro rail pillar even though the matter was in the high court which is pretty bad. I mean what happens if the court asks the pillar to be destroyed?

So At the meeting with the chief secretary on Tuesday, the church authorities even offered to meet the expenditure to remove the metro rail pillar constructed on its premises as they needed the land for its meetings but I dont think the metro willl let that happen.

The HMRL, man. They are so bad. A person close to the church explained that the metro rail authorities had chosen to negotiate with the SPG church authorities when it came to constructing a pillar in the cemetery of the church but when it needed the front portion of the church for the same purpose, they negotiated with the Church of South India.

Yes. Instead of agreeing or disagreeing the metro authority took the land over and started with the pillar work and constructed them. Just because the CM supports them does not mean they can do anything.

Actually here is what the church offered. The church was willing to allow the metro rail to take over a small portion of its land where the Alpha hotel and a petrol bunk stand but the HMRL did not want that.

You know supposedly, the high court had given a stay order for the metro work, the HMRL authorities without responding to the court order had gone ahead and constructed the metro rail pillar on the church property.

Now several people have started accusing the HMRL of several things. Addressing a press conference at the church on Wednesday, Shashidhar Reddy said the HMRL's actions showed that they were acting without transparency. THis has reached the press now and is bound to be bad PR for the HMRL>

Then it definitely is a problem caused by the metro guys. THey basically bull dozed the church to get to this. on the night of January 28, the metro rail authorities along with the police had barged into the church premises and occupied 2,007 square yards of land after assaulting the priests and taking them into custody. About the assault thing. I dont know. The church authorities might be using that for dramatic effect.

The Church authorities explained to the chief secretary how the church had in the past expressed its willingness to cooperate with the metro rail authorities and a 'third option' had also been agreed upon wherein a pillar would be allowed to be built just within seven and a half metres inside the church land.

Oh, this seems pretty heavy. The representatives have said that they were willing to dismantle, at their cost, the metro pillar that had been built hastily on the land. This is a really sticky situation and need to be dealt with carefully.

Yoou know they took over some 2,007 sq yards belonging to the church. Now they are asking for it citing that they are going to renovate the church and that the available land is nowhere near enough. Lets see how HMRL will deal with this.

Yes. The Church authorities are demanding the land back from the metro rail authorities. The church representatives along with former MLA of Sanatnagar M Shashidhar Reddy met chief secretary Rajiv Sharma, the chairman of the metro about this take over issue.

Oh, yes. This was kind of expected. the metro people forced the church to give them the land and then thought that they would deal with problems when it areises but is seems to have now become a thorn on their side.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited has now been stuck in a new issue. Earlier during the acquisition process, the Metro rail corporation took over some land from the St. THomas SPG Church in Secunderabad. Now the church authorities are back to haunt them.
