Q: Hey, i recently heard that HDMA has decided to create a panel to look into the allotment of stray bits of land to applicants in the city. Is that true?
As far as pricing for these plots go, let me tell you that the prices of these stray bits would be fixed by the committee after obtaining market rates from Sub-Registrar.
Did you know that the HDMA team should certify the land bits as non-feasible for auction and that they are not part of any park, water body, road or statutory open place.

Yeah, i agree with the comment below me, and now if a piece of land has a frontage of less than 10 metres, it would be allotted as a stray bit irrespective of its total size.
I know that the executive committee has now decided to do away with this practice and instead form a committee to examine issues related to land allotment and also fix their prices. That is a very smart move in my personal opinion.
Yeah, uptill now, HMDA secretary allotted land below 25 square yards at three-fourth of the prevailing market rate while vice-chairman fixed the price for land above 25 square yards.
