The works will be grounded in Old City where the route was proposed parallel to rail lines that ferried Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) trains. There is also a proposed extension of metro train from Salarjung museum to Nayapul, Muslimjungpul, Puranapul, Kalapathar and Falaknuma.
The government was examining diversion in three corridors -- opposite Assembly buildings, Sultan Bazaar and Old City -- but no decision was taken yet. The government will convene an all-party meeting on receipt of feasibility report before taking the decision.
In any case, the entire project was proposed to be completed by July 2017, well before the deadline.
The government had, nonetheless, learnt from the company that the first phase launch was postponed till completion of the line up to Secunderabad railway station.
I think that the metro rails project is likely to be extended up to Secunderabad. The first phase of L & T Hyderabad Metro Rail was initially proposed from Nagole to Mettuguda, i think.
There was no agreement with the L&T that the first phase should be launched by Ugadi (March 21). But now, at State government's instance, the L&T had agreed to launch the first phase from Nagole - Mettuguda by Ugadi and the same has been put off due to technical reasons.
Yeah..that's true. There was a study to extend some more metro rail routes also. But for now, the study was on to extend the Metro Rail services from Kalapather PS-Aliabad Water Reservoir-Falaknuma and a decision on this route would be taken only after the receipt of feasibility report, and after holding consultations with the local elected representatives.Â
I think that there are also some issues with some other metro stations. This is especially the issues related to the metro rail works at the assembly building, Sultan Bazar and Old City were still under consideration. I think there are even more similar metro stations also, no?
Recently only, the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao had informed the Telangana Legislative Assembly that the State government intends to expand the Metro Rail coverage to sub-urban areas of Hyderabad city. However, he said preliminary proposals on these routes are yet to be prepared.
But, you know, I came to know that the L & T company that are undertaking the project had problem with the extension of the railway station. The extension up to Secunderabad Railway station is an eight kilometre stretch and this was not financially and technically viable to the company for opening up immediately.
Yeah..It is true. I think that the hyderabad metro is all set to extend to more suburban centres. I think that the proposed sub-urban services also include Falaknuma-Shamshabad, Tarnaka-ECIL, LB Nagar-Hayath Nagar, Miyapur-Patancheru, Jubilee Bus Stand-Alwal and Nagole-LB Nagar, etc.
