The waste disposal plan that SCB plans to adopt is inspired by Panaji’s model. During a board meeting, the board had announced that composting units would also be set up in colonies where space is available.

Better management of waste is expected to pacify residents of Turkapally, unhappy with the location of a dumping yard in their neighbourhood. Before Turkpally, waste was dumped in Hasmathpet. Nearly a decade ago, SCB stopped dumping at the site following objections from the Pollution Control Board.

Supposedly, for both residential and commercial establishments, the new waste management plan will be included as bye laws in the agreement draw. This is to ensure compliance from all the parties involved/

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has said that after establishing segregated waste collection process for hospitals, the move will be replicated in residential areas. A public meeting with colony associations is being planned to discuss the waste management plan.

The plan right noe is that the wet waste will be used to produce compost at a central composting facility that is likely to be set up at the dumping yard itself. Dry waste will be processed and sold for recycling purposes, as of what the officials say.

They have some new things that they will work on. The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) will soon deploy its new waste management and disposal plan that will help the board to rid its streets of garbage, and also accrue revenue through sale of waste.
