Hi Guys,

The CHB had chosen November 12, 2012 that in future all kinds of transfer cases, no-objection certificate (NoC) for selling property and conversion from leasehold to freehold as well as execution of conveyance deed will be managed strictly when taking the most recent investigation report with respect to building violations.

Hi ,
As per my knowledge, from that point onwards, thousands of cases were pending for clearance with the assessment staff giving a negative write about need-based changes after the notice. But expansion of storeys, or structures made by encroaching on government or regular land are not liable to be regularized.

@Ravi,

Anyway the board will hold the final authority to focus the safety of the structural changes. But in case if authority will find that changes made are unsafe and influencing the safety of the building as well as neighboring apartments, so then authority will make strict action against property owner of such units.

Hi Ravi,
The chairman of CHB Residents' Federation commented that the new arrangement on need-based changes would be out in a few months, alongside the compounding fee, which is being worked out by the Finance Department.

Hi Ravi,

As per most recent news, there is a huge relief to thousands of people of Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) flats, particularly to those situated in southern division of the UT, the board has acknowledged the long-pending demand of regularizing changes made by occupants and looked for the applications for changes by December 31.

@ Ravi,
As per sources, the resident welfare associations (RWA) were battling very hard for the revision of a statement accepting the development of a room in the back courtyard and forcing a fine of Rs 50. The condition was made in a request issued in 2010. The choice was taken after considering the demands of neighborhood resident associations. There are around 50,000 residential buildings built by Chandigarh Housing Board and just about 80% inhabitants of these houses have rolled out improvements in their apartments.

@ Ravi,

The administration had allocated apartments under a housing scheme in year 2006 and permitted the need-based changes, including the development of a room in year 2008. As per residents the approval for the construction was still pending by developing authority.
