Hey Guys, As per latest news, advocate Zubeda Begum, filed a plea, declared that lay out arrangement of Delhi Development Authority appropriately records it as the site for the park. Charging rampant & nepotism among the authorities, the plea said different authorities are pursuing to part away the important piece of land by exchanging it to a private person.
Hi,
As per different sources, it is brought to the notice of this Tribunal that the conceded position is that the Horticulture department of the DDA was keeping up it as park for almost 30 years. As indicated by plea, if the respondents are allowed to fell 400 trees the residents of this area will get stifled and left without a green cover.
@ James,
As per my knowledge, the Aastha Kunj Park, which was introduced by the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in year 2002, is spread over more than 100 hectares. This park is maintained by Delhi Development Authority. Aastha Kunj park outskirts Kalkaji Temple, Lotus Temple and ISKCON Temple on its three ends.
Hey James, As per my knowledge, the bench headed by justice P Jyothimani, likewise containing expert member A R Yousuf, requested that status quo be kept up with respect to public park and coordinated DDA to deliver important documents on the following date of hearing.
In my point of view, the order came while hearing an appeal filed by Sant Nagar Residents Welfare Association looking for guidance to restrain authorities(DDA & Municipal company) from changing the land use from the district park Aastha Kunj to private use. Aastha kunj park is used by Sant Nagar colony residents for morning walk everyday. This park contains approx 400 trees, which provides green cover to the area.
Hey Guys,
I heard from news, National Green Tribunal issued notice to Delhi development Authority , South Delhi Municipal Corporation & Delhi Government on an appeal following guidance to restrain development authorities from transferring a piece of Aastha Kunj Park for private use.
Hi James, That is right, i read in paper ,the bench headed by P Jyothimani, honorable justice, looked for proper response from the Delhi government, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), South Delhi Municipal Corporation and others by June 20. National Green Tribunal is not letting any authorities to sell a part of park for private development.
