Government has announced to build 2.95 crore houses for homeless family
Q: As per govt. announcement, every homeless family living in plains will get Rs.1.20 lakh and those living in hilly and difficult areas will get a help of Rs. 1.30 lakh.
Hi Gautam and Lokesh, Do you know that as per the last Census, a total of Rs. 2.95 crore houses are needed to be constructed and it is expected that the target will be achieved by 2022 under ''Housing For All'' scheme.
You are right Ravindra. The Government's proposal is to run the scheme in 2-phases and this programme will run for 6-7 years. The NDA Govt. also proposed to construct one crore houses in the first 3 yrs. For this the govt. would need to spend nearly Rs. 82000 crore. Out of which, Rs.65000 crore will be provided by budgetary provisions and the rest will come from India's apex development bank NABARD.
I don't have any idea that how government run those schemes but if they maintained transparency in the selection of beneficiaries, the houses will be on right hand otherwise, we can see one more housing scam.
Secondly, and most important part is that the masons to be employed for building the houses should be trained properly so that the construction is done as per the regional requirements.
@Harsh, I personally appreciate the steps taken by Modi Govt. It will help build 2.95 crore houses in India's rural areas and for this a financial help of up to Rs. 1.30 lakh will be given to each poor ro homeless family.
Yeah, even Communication and IT Minister appreciate this move and called it a very important decision taken by the cabinet. I have seen a lot's of development work in NDAs 1.5 yrs of regime. Whether its a road and highway sector, IT sector, Telecom sector, Real estate sector, Railway sector, Industry and commerce sector, finance sector. Each and every sector has given equal rights.
