Good evening to all,
But the residents are saying that they are willing to shift to either of the two areas i.e. Prahladnagar or Manekbaug which they have suggested, if offered relocation there. But MEGA had replied that it would think of the option offered by the residents.

@Bachu,
The petitioners, including residents and shopowners of Mangal Deep and Vishwakarma Residential Societies of Jivraj Park area from where the north-south elevated corridor of the proposed metro rail starts, had moved the high court.

They had also claimed that they would lose their houses and shops due to the project and state-owned MEGA, undertaking the project of Metro Rail, is not ready to provide anything beyond cash compensation against the acquisition of their properties, which is a violation of the Act.

Hi All,
Residents facing displacement due to a proposed metro rail project in Ahmedabad, today rejected the relocation offer made by Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) Co. Ltd. before the Gujarat High Court, arguing that the area in question is "communally-disturbed".

As per the sources, the 22 petitioners, who own houses and shops in Jivraj Park Society, have instead demanded relocation to the plots available in Prahladnagar or Manekbaug areas of the city.

It's true Vikash. MEGA had made an offer to the project affected residents to relocate to a plot bordering Vejalpur and Juhapura. However, they opposed the proposal stating that the area was communally disturbed and was among the first to be affected in the event of communal riots.

Hi friends,
The state-owned MEGA, which is undertaking the project of Metro Rail, is not ready to provide anything beyond cash compensation against the acquisition of their properties, which is a violation of the Act. Now, what will they do?

Nobody will take a hasty decision. After all it is a matter of relocation so, they all will take their time to think of their basic daily necessities. The petitioners will respond to the offer in the next hearing scheduled on March 29.

but it is came to know that the petitioners, including residents and shop-owners of Mangal Deep and Vishwakarma residential societies of Jivraj Park area had moved the high court, alleging that acquisition of their properties by MEGA was not in accordance with the provisions of Land Acquisition Act of 2013.

@Vikash,
They are right because they are thinking that they would lose their houses and shops due to the Ahmedabad Metro Rail project. They are not providing him home option to the petitioners.

Hi,
The Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad Company Limited (MEGA), in a consent made before the Gujarat High Court that the metro project route could not be changed and offered to relocate 22 petitioners residing in the city's Jivraj Park Society to Vejalpur area.

Hi Vikash,
GM of MEGA (Planning) submitted a petition before the division bench of Judges that the company would go ahead to acquire the land if petitioner agreed to be relocated at the given address. I think its matter of city's development so petitioners should come forward and help them to start the construction work of Metro.
