Celebrate Independence Day in your apartment
The most significant national festival of India; Independence Day is just a few days away. Like every other national festivals, there are various ways through which we can celebrate the freedom of our country on this 15th of August in every apartment complex.
This day is celebrated in order to mark the beginning of a free India, symbolizing hope and triumph. This day is also remembered to be the day wherein the tricolour flag was unfolded by Pandit Nehru on the barricades of the Red Fort at Delhi. There were thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their life for the sake of the country’s freedom. How do we pay them back for such a gallant sacrifice? Well, one can honour them by celebrating Independence Day in your apartment in the following ways;
Decoration and grandeur:
On the eve of Independence Day, you can start the celebration by decorating the chosen place in your apartment. Make use of colourful or tri coloured ribbons along with flowers and balloons. Complete all the decorations the day before the celebration. Also you can set up a kiosk selling miniature tri colour flags and momentums.
Flag hoisting ceremony:
In order to make people aware about the celebration, the association members can invite all the apartment residents and inform them about the precise timing and venue. All the members can gather at the time of flag hoisting ceremony. You can also conduct a speech and make people aware about the importance of the flag hoisting ceremony and Independence Day. There are certain instructions by the government which should be followed while hoisting the flag as the tricolour flag is the national symbol. Both the apartment managing committee as well as the apartment members should be aware about these in order to avoid any misuse of it.
National anthem/patriotic songs:
National anthem, being one of the major associations of the national festival, should be sung at the time of flag hoisting. The apartment members can either form a lead group which can sing the national anthem and other patriotic songs or everyone can sing it at a time.
A speech:
The speech can include various incidents about the sacrifices of the martyrs and their significance. Each one can take turns and give speech about such incidents and encourage the members to be patriotic.
Hosting of the live programme:
One of the best ways to celebrate the festival is to gather at a point and watch the live programme of the celebration of the Independence Day in Delhi. Children from the apartment will get to know more about the prime minister and his speech. Also there will be colourfully dressed people who will be paying tribute and expressing the importance of the National festival through gun firing and salutations.
Kite flying:
Since Independence Day is an occasion of cheerful celebration; you can gather all children and interested people and hoist a kite flying competition. The kites can be made out of tri colour.
