About Hadapsar


Hadapsar is a growing suburb in the city of Pune. It is well known for the two Special Economic Zones established here, Magarpatta City and Fursungi IT Park. Many renowned players, like ADP, Sybase, IBM, TCS, Mphasis, John Deere, Patni, Option One, Accenture, Aviva, Bharat Forge, Kirloskar, Honeywell, and Synechron, have set up offices in Hadapsar. Hadapsar has a gliding club, which offers training to aspiring glider pilots. The gliding season starts in October and continues on till May or early June. NH-9 and SH-27 are the important roads in the area, and form a junction in the locality. This major road network connected by road, which connects to Hadapsar and other localities with buses and other public transport systems.


Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited is the public transportation service company in the region. It has a bus depot located along NH-9. It helps connect Hadapsar to other parts of the city. Many State-run transport buses also have stops at Hadapsar.


Pune is also the first city in India to implement the Bus Rapid Transit System. The routes of this system are easily accessible from the city. Apart from buses, one can get auto-rickshaws and taxis to travel shorter distances. Trains are another popular means of transport in Hadapsar. The Sasvad Road Railway Station is located 4.5 kilometers from the heart of the city. Trains to many local and national destinations can be boarded from here.


Hadapsar is also located 15 kilometers from Pune International Airport. The airport handles both domestic and international flights. Factors for Growth in the Past


Hadapsar can attribute its growth to the two Special Economic Zones set up in the locality. This was responsible for ushering in a large number of developmental projects in the region. Soon, apartment blocks, malls, ATMs, hospitals, and parks were constructed. The local infrastructure too, was greatly improved to contain the large influx of professionals into the region. Many investments, both foreign and domestic, found their way into the region in the form of offices and buildings, which helped accelerate the growth of the town further.


Residential & Commercial Market


The dominant property type seen in this area are apartments. Houses are not many in number. In the second quarter of 2014, prices were Rs 5,200 per sq. ft. on an average, for multi-storey apartments.


Commercial office space sold for an average at Rs 6,200 per sq. ft. during the April-June quarter of 2014, While commercial shops sold at Rs 9,300 per sq. ft. during the same period.

The air quality in Hadapsar is said to be one of the poorest in the region. This is due to the high amount of traffic in the region. Local industries also add to the pollution in the locality. Other problems include frequent traffic jams and high noise levels during rush hours.

Hadapsar has potential for growth in the future largely due to the two large IT parks located in the region. This will help to improve the existing infrastructure in Hadapsar.
