Overview
Kamshet is a village town in Maval Taluka located in north-western parts of Pune. This locality comes under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat. It is a beautiful place and has a number of small villages which are built in the tradition style. The locality has numerous tourist spots such as Shinde Wadi Hills, Kondeshwar Temple, pawna Lake, Bhairi Caves, Bedse Caves etc. It is also famous for paragliding experience. It is located 48.7 km from district headquarters Pune and 102 km from state capital Mumbai. This locality serves as a railhead for many villages such as Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra in the western ghats. Mumbai Pune Expressway passes through the village. Talegaon Dabhade, Vadgaon, Parandwadi, Khadkale, Taje, Karunj etc. are some of the prominent localities situated close to Kamshet.
