Wakad is a suburb located in the west of Pune. It comes under the municipal limits of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation which offered it a full-fledged drainage system and provided electricity, water and good roads. It is considered as one of the fastest developing locality of Pune. It is the first locality to gain significantly from the IT boom in Pune.
