Tiruvallur is a neighborhood situated in the western part of Chennai Metropolitan Area. It is a temple town and a municipality in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It is an administrative Headquarters of Tiruvallur District. It comes under the jurisdiction of Tiruvallur Municipality. The famous Cooum river is passing through the southern parts of the locality.
