The affidavit mentioned how some trees were felled by unknown people, highlighted the protests by locals and action taken against the contractor by the police and forest department.

I guess, the contractors denied about the fact, that they fell down trees in that area.

I think this a foul play by the PWD once they say to wait till the approvals, and then speak about legal notice if the construction work do not end within 3 days

What about the documents and affidavit ? was there any mention of trees?

This is total loss in Government's work, they do not know what is happing and why. Few days before for the same road project PWD cited pressures from “higher authorities”, even referred to
an inspection, and allegedly kept threatening the contractor to go ahead
with the project immediately or face legal action. It was only in
January 2013 that the agency acknowledged the presence of any tree.

True, even i read yesterday newspaper, which states that the contractor wrote at least 15 letters to the PWD, mostly referring to trees in the project area that needed to be cleared.

Delhi government’s public works department (PWD) said that they had been maintaining the records and it never ordered felling of trees for the much-controversial road-widening project in Vasant Kunj.

True now a days construction is taking place any where and everywhere and no one is bothered about the problem residents are facing in day to day life.
